Sleep training can be tough when you have two
children under 2. Thankfully I’m a stay at home mommy & I have nothing but
time! I sleep trained Careena at about 4 months so I knew it was about time to
start Hailee.
It’s been a few weeks and I love it. I lay
Careena down at either 1 or 2, depending on what time she wakes up. She takes a
2 hour nap, almost to the minute. I feed Hailee and lay her down before I walk Careena
upstairs. By the time I come back downstairs after throwing a load of Laundry
in and putting some away, she is sleeping.
I am pretty lucky in that Careena loves to take
naps. When I ask her if she is ready for a nap, she grabs whatever toy she
brought down with her in the morning (a Mickey Mouse character of some sort)
and she races to the stairs. She does not fuss to lie down at all. She arranges
her toys in her crib, covers herself with her blanket & passes out.
Hailee will not only sleep for the 2 hours
Careena does, but she usually won’t wake until Careena wakes her with a yelp or
chasing the dog/cat around the house. She sleeps downstairs in her swing where
I am for now. I don’t plan to put her in her crib to nap for a while. I like
her right next to me. Maybe it’s so I don’t feel so lonely when they are
sleeping!
As far as night time sleeping...we are just lucky! Hailee goes down (in her co sleeper) at about 9pm and we take CJ into her room to read for about 15 minutes. They are both out by 9:30pm at the latest. Hailee will start to move around between 2-4am to nurse. I simply pull her over, nurse her and lay her back in her co sleeper until about 9am.
Careena usually wakes between 8-9am. I take her down stairs in the morning, get her milk and head back up to get Hailee. It's a schedule we stick pretty tightly too. We are lucky in that they both slept through the night since birth!

We believe in sleep training. It works for our
family, and it could work for yours. It’s a promised time to you, to get things
done.
We leave you with these two beautiful, well rested ladies;
Did you, or do you plan on sleep training? How
did it go for your family?

I do and will again sleep train...but how is it sleep training for Hailee if she's in her swing and she still wakes up at night to nurse? Do you just mean that she falls asleep on her own? I'm going to start Ethan after his 4 month shots, he's still too young to do it with the method I use. Regardless, that's awesome you're getting so much sleep.
@Sarah, thanks for the comment!!
I don't let Hailee sleep all day anymore. I keep her awake until it's time for her to take a nap. I let her do tummy time, and play with her to keep her awake. I lay her down at the same time every day *therfor sleep training her*.
And she does not really "wake up" at night, she starts to move around in her co sleeper and thats how I know she is looking to eat. She eats and continues to sleep. She gets her nap in the morning, and then the afternoon. I actually just started putting her in her co sleep to nap when Careena does too, so they are both upstairs. So far, so good!!!
Good luck with sleep training Ethan! I hope it goes smoothly for you both!
